Alcoa Aluminum Powder continues to experience increased costs related to energy, transportation, labor, packaging, and raw materials that have not been passed on to customers. Previous reductions in manufacturing and overhead costs were not able to keep pace with the increased external costs that we are experiencing. As a result, prices must be increased.

Alcoa Reaches New Renewable Power Deal for Wenatchee, WA Smelter
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alcoa (NYSE:AA) today announced it has reached agreement with the Chelan PUD on a new, clean-energy hydropower contract to supply its Wenatchee, Washington aluminum smelter through 2028. The new contract, which begins in 2011, will provide enough energy to enable the start-up of a third potline at the smelter in 2012.
